Job summary

Univar Solutions is seeking a Production Scheduler and Plant Operations lead to develop and manage daily production schedules in a chemical manufacturing facility. You will partner with production, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to balance demand, inventory and equipment, while ensuring safe, on‑time operations.

The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and an effective communicator in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• 4 - 6 years of proven experience in operations.
• Knowledge of chemical distribution facility operation preferred.
• SAP or experience with similar ERP systems required.
• Adept with Microsoft Office applications; Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Responsibilities

• Manage production schedules to meet customer demand while balancing inventory, staffing, equipment availability, and plant capacity.
• Monitor production performance, adjust priorities as needed, and communicate updates across operations, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams.
• Support daily plant operations by leading shift communications, ensuring safe and compliant work practices, troubleshooting issues, coordinating maintenance, and driving achievement of production goals.
• Promote a safe and compliant work environment by enforcing safety policies, supporting audits and investigations, ensuring regulatory compliance, resolving quality issues, and maintaining accurate production documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, scheduling efficiency, and operational performance while supporting employee training, development, and cross‑functional collaboration.
