Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field required.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, operations finance, cost accounting, or related analytical role preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing required.
  • Experience partnering directly with Operations or Supply Chain leadership required.
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident/Green Card status required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a financial partner to Operations leadership, providing timely analysis and insight into operational and financial performance.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Production Planning, Inventory, Warehouse, and Engineering teams to understand business drivers and identify opportunities to improve performance.
  • Translate operational activity into financial impact and clearly communicate findings to business leaders.
  • Support Operations leaders in evaluating business decisions, investments, staffing needs, and improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs, labor utilization, overtime, productivity, capacity, and other operational cost drivers.
  • Monitor and analyze KPIs including labor utilization, overtime, time tracking accuracy, on-time delivery, inventory management, and quality costs.
  • Quantify the financial impact of operational improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze inventory levels, trends, turns, aging, and excess/obsolete inventory.
  • Support inventory forecasting and financial planning; assist with reserves, adjustments, and variances.

iAutomation, a full-service automation company, developing robotic solutions and offering design, engineering, and integration (DE&I) services, product support, and production services, has an immediate opening for an Operations Finance Analyst in Franklin, Massachusetts.

The Operations Finance Analyst serves as a key financial partner to iAutomation’s Operations organization, providing analysis, reporting, and insights that support operational performance and business decision-making. This role connects financial results with the underlying operational drivers of the business, helping leaders understand performance, identify opportunities, and take action.

The Operations Finance Analyst will work closely with Finance, and the collective Operations departments to analyze key operational metrics.

This is a hands‑on, analytical role for someone who enjoys working with data, understanding how a business operates, and translating financial and operational information into meaningful recommendations.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Finance & Business Partnership
  • Serve as a financial partner to Operations leadership, providing timely analysis and insight into operational and financial performance.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Production Planning, Inventory, Warehouse, and Engineering teams to understand business drivers and identify opportunities to improve performance.
  • Translate operational activity into financial impact and clearly communicate findings to business leaders.
  • Support Operations leaders in evaluating business decisions, investments, staffing needs, and improvement initiatives.
Manufacturing & Operational Performance
  • Analyze manufacturing costs, labor utilization, overtime, productivity, capacity, and other operational cost drivers.
  • Partner with Operations to evaluate production efficiency and identify opportunities to improve cost performance.
  • Monitor and analyze key operational KPIs, including:
    • Labor utilization and productivity
    • Overtime
    • Time tracking accuracy and completeness
    • On‑time delivery
    • Inventory Management
    • Rework and quality‑related costs
  • Quantify the financial impact of operational improvement initiatives.
Inventory & Working Capital
  • Analyze inventory levels, trends, turns, aging, and excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Operations to identify opportunities to optimize inventory and working capital.
  • Support inventory forecasting and financial planning.
  • Assist with analysis related to inventory reserves, adjustments, and variances.
  • Provide visibility into the financial impact of purchasing, planning, and inventory decisions.
Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Support the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes for Operations.
  • Develop forecasts for labor, headcount, overtime, operating expenses, inventory, and other operational drivers.
  • Partner with functional leaders to develop assumptions and ensure forecasts reflect current business conditions.
  • Track performance against forecast and identify emerging risks and opportunities.
  • Develop scenario and sensitivity analyses to support operational planning and decision‑making.
Cost & Margin Analysis
  • Analyze product, customer, project, and operational profitability as needed.
  • Support analysis of standard versus actual costs and investigate significant variances.
  • Evaluate material, labor, freight, and other cost drivers affecting gross margin.
  • Identify margin improvement opportunities and partner with the business to track results.
  • Support business cases and ROI analyses for capital expenditures, automation, staffing, and process improvement initiatives.
Data & Continuous Improvement
  • Utilize ERP, financial, and business intelligence systems to develop accurate and scalable reporting.
  • Improve financial and operational reporting processes through automation and standardization.
  • Partner with Operations to improve data quality and consistency.
  • Develop tools and models that allow leaders to make faster, data‑driven decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes and improve financial visibility across Operations.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field required.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, operations finance, cost accounting, or a related analytical role preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing required
  • Experience partnering directly with Operations or Supply Chain leadership required.
  • Requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident/Green Card Holder status
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to connect financial results to operational drivers.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling and large-data analysis.
  • Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence and visualization tools strongly preferred.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing costs, inventory, labor, and operational KPIs preferred.
  • Ability to analyze complex information and communicate conclusions clearly to both financial and non-financial audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail while maintaining a broader business perspective.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective relationships across Finance and Operations.

This individual will become a trusted partner to Operations by providing clear, fact-based insights that help CAS improve productivity, working capital, profitability, and overall operating performance.

Salary Range: $100,100- $120,700annually.

This range reflects the expected base pay for this position in Massachusetts and is based on internal equity and the established job family compensation structure. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and performance.
