Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Co is seeking a Director of Operations to provide senior leadership for safe, compliant, and efficient nuclear fuel fabrication manufacturing operations. Based on-site in Columbia, SC, you will lead through lean initiatives, strategic planning, and regulatory compliance to meet customer commitments and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, business, supply chain, or related discipline.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible manufacturing operations experience.
• 2+ years in operations leadership; nuclear/regulated environment preferred.
• Lean/Six Sigma certification (Green Belt/Black Belt) preferred.
• Demonstrated senior operations leadership and manufacturing execution.
• Strong strategic planning, resource allocation, and financial acumen.
• Experience developing workforce and facilitating collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead all manufacturing operations to ensure safe, compliant, reliable, and efficient execution of production activities.
• Establish and implement manufacturing strategies aligning centralized SIOP, customer demand, material availability, inventory, and capacity.
• Promote operational excellence through Lean, disciplined performance management, and improvements in throughput, lead time, and cost performance.
• Build a sustainable operations organization through workforce development, succession planning, and resource planning.
• Act as primary manufacturing interface with customers, supply chain, other sites, and regulatory stakeholders; lead issue resolution and strategic projects.
• Ensure compliance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulations and company standards for nuclear fuel fabrication.
• Maintain processes and performance standards for regulatory readiness, reporting, inspection support, and corrective actions.
• Foster a strong nuclear safety culture and enforce safety leadership and procedural compliance.
