Job summary

Veolia in Dayton, Ohio is seeking an Operations Engineering intern to learn the operational activities of the Dayton Service Center and to understand unit processes for water treatment. You will collaborate with the SDI Plant, Team Services and Mobile Units to identify opportunities for improvement and participate in implementing solutions.

This role offers hands-on exposure to ion exchange, filtration, and other processes in a real-world setting.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a BS in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or related field.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good technical writing and oral communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively and contribute to team and department projects.
Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

Understand the operational processes of the ion exchange resin regeneration plant (SDI Plant) and identify operational improvements.
Understand ISO quality system and assist Plant Manager to identify improvements in the plant and administrative process.
Learn unit processes for water treatment and support Mobile Units to identify improvements and implement solutions.
Provide technical support to promote solutions for customer needs in water treatment and instrumentation.
Engage with extended DSC team and equipment suppliers to facilitate design and execution of solutions.
