Job summary

The Mosaic Company is offering an Operations Engineering Co-op/Internship for Summer 2027 at the Bartow Manufacturing Facility in Bartow, FL. May 11 to August 21, 2027, on-site, typically 36-44 hours per week with a 9/80 schedule if applicable.

As an Operations Engineering Co-op/Intern, you will work with plant operations to troubleshoot processes, optimize production, and help develop digital tools under engineer supervision. Housing/relocation may be provided for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering by January 2027.
• GPA 2.75 or higher.
• 1–2 years of volunteering or related student activities or work preferred.
• Previous internship or co-op experience preferred.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license; travel to sites as needed.
• Full-time student in good standing during co-op/internship.
• Post-offer pre-placement screenings may be required.
• Teamwork and verbal communication are important.
• Physical work may be outdoors; respirator use may be required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve root causes in phosphoric acid processing and production systems.
• Evaluate and enhance the performance of unit operations in the Phosphoric Acid department.
• Observe a turnaround outage and participate in equipment inspections.

As an Operations Engineering Co-op/Intern, you will provide technical support primarily to plant operations groups from troubleshooting complex systems to optimizing production processes. What will you do?

Day to day work assignments assigned by the supervisor and could include:

• Identify and resolve root causes of issues in phosphoric acid processing and production systems.

• Evaluate and enhance the performance of unit operations in the Phosphoric Acid department.

• Observe work during a turnaround outage and participate in equipment inspections.

• Participate in the development and implementation of digital tools for operations.

• Perform duties as assigned.

• Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), maintenance, automation, lab personnel, and contractors.

• Participation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment.

• Adhering to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies.

What do you need for this role?

• Junior level or higher by January 2027 pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.

• 2.75 GPA or higher

• 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is preferred.

• Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred.

• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.

• Ability to work full timeand be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship

• Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete thefollowing:Post-offer/pre-placementdrug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination.

• Basic computer skills are required.

• Experience working in a team environment is a must.

• Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable.

• Effective verbal communication skills is a plus.

• Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments.
