Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, junior level or higher by January 2027.
• GPA 2.75 or higher.
• 1–2 years of related experience or volunteering preferred.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license; travel to sites as needed.
• Ability to work full-time while staying enrolled as a student.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve root causes of issues in sulfuric processing and production systems.
• Improve the efficiency of converter systems, water treatment, and overall sulfuric acid plant systems.
• Evaluate and enhance performance of unit operations in the Sulfuric Acid department.
• Observe a turnaround outage and participate in equipment inspections.
• Develop and implement digital tools for operations.
• Perform duties as assigned.
• Communicate with management, plant operators, engineers, maintenance, automation, lab personnel, and contractors.
• Participate in department and project meetings.

What will you do?

What do you need for this role?

• Junior level or higher by January 2027 pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 2.75 GPA or higher
• 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is preferred.
• Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred.Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.
• Ability to work full timeand be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship
• Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete thefollowing:Post-offer/pre-placementdrug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Experience working in a team environment is a must.
• Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable.
• Effective verbal communication skills is a plus.
• Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments.
