Job summary

ConocoPhillips is seeking an Operations Engineering Analyst to turn complex operational data into clear insights that improve safety, reliability, and performance across Permian Production Operations. You will build dashboards, visualizations, and analytics tools and adapt quickly as priorities change.

Success comes from delivering practical solutions in collaboration with field and office teams, strengthening digital workflows, and supporting data-driven decision-making in a fast-paced energy

Qualifications

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Experience integrating data from at least two source systems into a single dataset for reporting or decision-making.
  • Experience with data preparation including joins, cleansing, validation, or transformation prior to reporting.
  • Experience working with large datasets or operational systems.
  • Experience using AI tools to support analytical work.
  • Ability to independently build and maintain dashboards.
  • Experience with BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Retrieve data from source systems and the data warehouse, including writing and tuning queries.
  • Build and maintain data visualizations and dashboards for production, downtime, efficiency, and trends.
  • Translate data findings into clear insights to support day-to-day and long-term decisions.
  • Improve data accuracy, consistency, and usability across datasets.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, HSE, and IT to deliver practical analytics solutions.
  • Support rollout of tools and dashboards, including end-user training and education.
  • Identify trends and opportunities to enhance operational performance and analytics modernization.

Job Summary

At ConocoPhillips the Lower 48 segment consists of operations located in the 48 contiguous U.S. states, with a portfolio mainly consisting of low cost of supply, short cycle time, resource-rich unconventional plays and commercial operations. The majority of our acreage is unconventional. Based on 2025 production volumes, the Lower 48 is our largest segment and contributed 67 percent of our consolidated liquids production and 74 percent of our consolidated natural gas production.

In 2025, net production averaged 1,484 MBOED.

Position Overview

The Operations Engineering Analyst turns complex operational data into clear insights that improve safety, reliability, and performance across Permian Production Operations. In practice, that means finding the data, building and maintaining the dashboards, visualizations, analytics tools, and applications leaders rely on, and adapting quickly as systems, priorities, and questions change. We welcome candidates with strong data analytics experience from any industry.

Your responsibilitiesmay include:
Operational Insight
  • Retrieve data directly from source systems and the data warehouse, including writing and tuning your own queries

  • Build andmaintaindata visualizations and dashboards to track production, downtime, efficiency, and operational trends

  • Translate data findings into clear insights that supportday-to-dayandlong-termoperational decisions

Quality & Integration
  • Improve data accuracy, consistency, and usability across operational datasets

  • Support smooth data flow between systems, field data capture platforms, and internal reporting tools

Collaboration & Support
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, HSE, Supply Chain, IT, and field teams to understand needs and deliver practical solutions

  • Help strengthen digital workflows and analytics capabilities across the organization

  • Support rolloutprocessesfor tools and dashboards, including education and support of end users

  • Help withthe administrationof keyapplications, systems, and dashboards

Continuous Improvement
  • Identifytrends, gaps, and improvement opportunities that enhance operational performance

  • Support projects focused on data integration, workflow improvements, and analytics modernization

  • Continuously adapt to the ever-changing AI landscape and leverage AI tools to enhance the support provided to the organization

Basic Requirements:
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

  • Experience integrating data from at least two source systems into a single dataset for reporting, analysis, or operational decision-making purposes

  • Experience performing data preparation activities including data joins, cleansing, validation, or transformation prior to creating reports or dashboards

  • Experience working with large datasets or operational systems, including analyzing, querying, validating, or reporting on business or operational data

  • Experience using AI tools to support analytical work, including at least one of the following:

  • Demonstrated ability to independently build and maintain dashboards, including:

  • Experience using at least one business intelligence or data visualization platform, such as Power BI (preferred), Spotfire, Tableau, Qlik, or Looker

  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new software, systems, reporting tools, or business processes with limited direction

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related technical field.

  • Experience building solutions across the Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Fabric, Power Apps, Power Automate).

  • Experience using SQL, Python, or similar languages to query and manipulate data.

  • Experience accessing data through Snowflake or other enterprise data warehousing solutions.

  • Experience improving data workflows, automating processes, or supporting data-driven initiatives.

  • Experience communicating analytical findings and recommendations to business stakeholders.

  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver reporting or analytical solutions.

  • Understanding of HSE, engineering, maintenance, or field operations concepts.
