Job summary

Airswift is seeking an Operations Engineer to support offshore production facilities in the Gulf of Mexico region. The role emphasizes safe, reliable, and efficient operation, collaborating with Operations, Production, Process, and Facilities teams to maximize uptime and asset performance.

The position involves engineering support for offshore operations, monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and driving production optimization. 14 days on/14 days off offshore rotation applies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of oil & gas industry experience.
  • Experience supporting offshore production operations.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, equipment, and control systems.
  • Ability to read P&IDs and PFDs.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and production optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for offshore production operations and maintenance activities.
  • Monitor equipment and system performance; identify and resolve operational issues.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, process, and control system problems.
  • Support production optimization initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for operational disruptions and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
  • Participate in permit-to-work, risk assessment, and process safety activities.
  • Support facility modifications, upgrades, commissioning, and startup activities.
  • Perform production and process surveillance of oil, gas, and water treatment systems.
  • Coordinate with offshore personnel and shore-based engineering teams to maintain reliability.
  • Support subsea operations, well tie-ins, and integrity-related activities as required.

Operations Engineer

The Operations Engineer is responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of offshore production facilities. This role works closely with Operations, Production, Process, and Facilities teams to maximize uptime, optimize production, and improve asset performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering support for offshore production operations and maintenance activities.
  • Monitor equipment and system performance, identifying and resolving operational issues.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, process, and control system problems.
  • Support production optimization initiatives and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for operational disruptions and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
  • Participate in permit‑to‑work, risk assessment, and process safety activities.
  • Support facility modifications, upgrades, commissioning, and startup activities.
  • Perform production and process surveillance of oil, gas, and water treatment systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, PFDs, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and production optimization.Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred
  • Process Engineering experience.
  • Offshore Gulf of America experience.
  • Knowledge of oilfield chemistry, flow assurance, and subsea operations.
Work Schedule

Offshore rotation: 14 days on / 14 days off.
