Job summary

Danos is seeking a Deepwater Operator A or Bis to join our offshore team in Houma, LA. The role involves starting up, operating, monitoring, and shutting down process and utility systems, ensuring safe and efficient production across a range of parameters.

You will handle sampling, troubleshooting, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Ideal candidates have 2–5 years offshore experience, SCADA exposure, and a solid grasp of PTW systems and JSAs.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-5 years offshore production operator experience.
  • SCADA experience preferred.
  • Understanding of PTW systems, JSAs and offshore safety practices.
  • Good experience with Permit to Work.
  • Medically fit to ENG1 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Start up, operate, monitor, and shut down process and utility systems.
  • Monitor, maintain, and optimize process parameters (level, flow, temp, pressure).
  • Ensure sampling is carried out and sample results acted upon.
  • Troubleshoot to maximize sales quality and delivery volume.
  • Maintain discharge water quality within guidelines.
  • Operate electrical/hydraulic control panels, safety and ESD devices, Fire and Gas Systems.
  • Submit accurate production reporting daily or as required.
  • Witness third-party calibrations for meter factors and volumes.
  • Prove export oil meters.
  • Carry out operations safely and in an environmentally sound manner offshore.
  • Test, calibrate, maintain, inspect equipment.
  • Complete mandatory paperwork for customer/government agencies.
  • Coordinate logistics for the facility.

Overview

The Deepwater Operator A or Bis responsible for the start-up, operation, monitoring, and shutdown of process and utility systems. This role ensures that process parameters are maintained within operating requirements, samples are taken and acted upon, and troubleshooting is performed to optimize sales quality and delivery volume.

Responsibilities
  • Start up, operate, monitor, and shut down process and utility systems.
  • Monitor, maintain, and optimize process parameters (level, flow, temperature, pressure, etc.) within operating requirements.
  • Ensure sampling is carried out and sample results are acted upon.
  • Troubleshoot to maximize sales quality and delivery volume to identify problems.
  • Maintain discharge water quality within current SBMPC or local guidelines.
  • Monitor and operate electrical/hydraulic control panels, safety and emergency shutdown devices, Fire and Gas Systems.
  • Ensure accurate production reporting is submitted daily or as required by the company and client.
  • Witness third-party calibrations when appropriate to provide verification of meter factors and volumes.
  • Prove export oil meters.
  • Carry out all operations in a safe and environmentally sound manner. Operate offshore production facility in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Test, calibrate, maintain, and inspect equipment.
  • Perform mandatory paperwork required by customer and government agencies.
  • Coordinate logistics for the facility.
  • Chemical treating and handling.
  • Facilitate maintenance operations by applying/removing isolations as required.
  • Operate under PTW system, Toolbox Talk, and Risk Assessments.
  • Advise maintenance personnel on hazards of plant and equipment.
  • Maintain clear and precise communications during maintenance operations.
  • Control activities of vendor and subcontractor personnel.
  • Create and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Create and maintain a positive work culture.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-5 years experience working offshore as a production operator.
  • Scada experience preferred.
  • Understanding of PTW systems, JSAs, and offshore safety practices
  • Good experience with Permit to Work.
  • Medically fit to offshore international standards such as ENG1 or equivalent.
