Job summary

CPS, Inc. is seeking an Operations Engineer to support day‑to‑day manufacturing across multiple chemical production areas. The role requires hands‑on problem solving, PSM experience, and the ability to serve as the technical SME for the facility.

You will drive root-cause investigations, optimize campaigns, and lead debottlenecking efforts while coordinating with engineers on capital projects. The position offers promotion potential and a performance bonus structure.

Qualifications

• Responsible for the day-to-day support of manufacturing in multiple chemical production areas.
• Provide technical expertise to resolve production issues and become the Subject Matter Expert for the facility.
• Drive root cause analyses and investigations and implement solutions for process upsets.
• Review data sheets of campaigns to identify variances and perform testing to optimize future runs.
• Handle manufacturing conflicts and identify productivity improvements in the plants and implement approved improvements.
• Drive solutions to debottleneck process problems and support improvement initiatives.
• Interface with the engineering group on capital projects; act as the manufacturing representative for projects.
• Assist with training Operators, hazard reviews, incident investigations and management of change directives.
• Work with the DCS technician on data collection for analysis and optimization of controls.

Responsibilities

• Provide commissioning and startup assistance on projects.
• Collaborate with the plant team to ensure safe, compliant operations.

Our client is a chemical manufacturer of a wide range of chemical-based products used in multiple different markets. They are in search of an Operations Engineer with the ability to handle an array of duties/responsibilities and collaborate with employees of all levels. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, problem solver with PSM experience. This is a position that has promotion potential.

• Responsible for the day-to-day support of manufacturing in multiple chemical production areas.
• Provide technical expertise to resolve any issues in production. Will become the Subject Matter Expert from a technical aspect for the facility.
• Drive/participate root/cause analysis efforts & investigations and subsequent solutions when there are process upsets.
• Review data sheets of all campaigns to identify any variances and perform any testing needed to make sure future runs are manufactured optimally.
• Handle any manufacturing conflicts/tough situations that arise in production.
• Identify productivity improvements in the plants and do necessary work to implement approved improvements.
• Drive solutions to debottleneck any process problems and implement improvement initiatives.
• Interface with the engineer group on any capital projects being installed in facility. Will act as the manufacturing rep for projects.
• Other duties to include: participate/assist with training of Operators, Hazard Reviews, incident investigation implementation of management of change directives.

Salary Range: up to $110,000/year plus 10% yearly bonus
