Job summary

Harvest Midstream seeks a seasoned engineer to provide full‑scope midstream support. You will analyze operational problems, perform hydraulic and process simulations, and develop costed improvement plans for facilities and pipelines.

You will coordinate with operations, commercial teams, and third‑party designers, ensuring safe, compliant, and value‑driven project delivery. The role requires 10 years in oil and gas/process engineering with plant experience and a BS in engineering; PE license is

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Professional Engineers license preferred.
  • 10 years minimum oil and gas/process engineering experience; 5 years minimum process experience in a plant environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support to Midstream Operations and Commercial teams; analyze operational problems and identify resolution or value-enhancing projects.
  • Perform hydraulic simulations of pipelines and process systems; develop alternatives and recommend optimal solutions.
  • Lead or participate in PHAs for processing facilities and manage risk mitigation projects/programs.
  • Coordinate with project engineers and field crews to ensure scope execution and schedule adherence.
  • Travel up to 25% to support field operations and project sites.

Job description

Job Objective:To provide engineering support to Midstream Operations and Commercial teams. Provides engineering analysis of operational problems and then identifies resolution or value-enhancing projects. Coordinates with the Integrity Management team on integrity inspections, assessments and risk mitigation projects/programs. Provides full range of engineering & technical support to the Commercial team for new project development and due diligence on acquisitions.Essential Job Responsibilities: Regularly interacts with control room, field operations leadership and field personnel to analyze operational problems, develop alternatives and recommend optimal solutions.Seeks and identifies opportunities to optimize systems, save costs and improve our operations and maximize operating performance & value.Provides initial design engineering, scope development, schedule and cost estimates for maintenance expense and/or capital jobs as well as growth capital projects.Coordinates and manages third party engineering designs for projects.Coordinates with project engineers and/or construction crews to ensure execution on desired scope of work.Works closely with the project manager or assumes the role of Project Manager for individual projects or programs as needed.Participates or leads PHAs for processing facilities and is responsible for resolving or identifying projects to address identified issues.Performs hydraulic simulations of pressures and flow rates through pipelines transporting oil, NGLs or natural gas.Works in coordination with the commercial team in new growth project development, providing iterations and various options for initial feasibility designs & cost estimatesPerforms due diligence work on midstream assets proposed to be acquired by Harvest, including participating in data rooms, conducting field reviews and observationsMeet with various local, state and federal agencies regarding assigned projects as neededPresent information at our field monthly update meetings on overall company performance and trendsAssist in incident response efforts if requiredOther Job Responsibilities:Demonstrate commitment to company core values — Integrity, Ownership, Urgency, Alignment, and Innovation — in all daily responsibilities and interactions.Actively support and contribute to the company’s mission and vision through reliable, high-quality workQualifications:10 years minimum oil and gas/process engineering experience.Three (5) years minimum process experience in a plant environment.Broad based engineering and operational knowledge with the ability to understand, lead efforts in or provide internal support for civil, electrical, mechanical and process control issues or designs.Familiar with PSM and process hazard analysis process and able to perform PHA’s for process facilities.Familiar with process simulation (Promax or equivalent) and hydraulic modeling software.Ability to generate heat & material balances for both existing and new process designsAbility to trouble-shoot operational issues at a crude oil Terminal, NGL Terminal and Olefins Terminal.Ability to perform detailed hydraulic modeling for both gas and liquids without use of canned computer software.Ability to support operations team to maximize value generated from each asset.Ability to size relief valves and control valves for both gas and liquidsAbility to maintain a positive, professional and solutions-oriented approach with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.Ability to communicate effectively and share ideasAbility to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.Willing to travel 25% of the timeEducation Requirements, Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations:Required: Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree from an accredited universityProfessional Engineers license preferredAbout UsHarvest Midstream is a privately-held midstream services provider headquartered in Houston, Texas with assets in Alaska, Colorado, Louisiana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, and Texas.
