8Fleet Inc. is seeking an Operations Coordinator in Chicago to keep our new market running every day. You will manage driver shifts, assign vehicles and ensure teams are informed and aligned.

This on-site, hands-on role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced systems-driven environment and wants to be the backbone of daily operations. You will work with Chicago market leadership, build scalable processes, and grow into supervisory or analytic roles as the market expands.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in operations, dispatch, logistics, fleet, transportation or another fast-moving operations environment.
• Strong organization and follow-through; you close loops without being chased.
• Comfort with data and spreadsheets (Google Sheets/Excel).
• Clear, calm communication with drivers, teammates and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own Daily Coverage: Build and manage driver schedules and shift coverage, fill gaps quickly and keep vehicles earning.
• Keep Vehicles on the Road: Coordinate vehicle assignments, handoffs and availability with the Fleet Support and Maintenance teams so downtime stays low.
• Be the Operational Hub: Be the first point of contact for drivers and supervisors on day-to-day issues, and route what you cannot solve to the right owner fast.
• Run the Numbers: Track daily metrics such as coverage, utilization, attendance and vehicle status, and turn them into clear updates for leadership.
• Fix What Slows Us Down: Spot recurring problems, document how things should work and help put better processes and tools in place.
• Support the Launch: Help with onboarding logistics, driver communications, supplies and site needs as we stand up the Chicago market.

8Fleet is hiring! We are a fast-growing technology and logistics company building the operational backbone for rideshare fleets, both driver-operated and autonomous. We run 24/7 operations with full-time drivers, a managed fleet of vehicles and a team that keeps it all moving. As we launch in Chicago, we are building our local team from the ground up.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an Operations Coordinator, based in Chicago, to keep our new market running every day. You will keep driver shifts covered, vehicles assigned and ready, and the team working from the same information. When something breaks at 6 a.m., you are the person who already knows and is fixing it.

This is an on-site, hands‑on role for someone who likes a fast pace, thinks in systems and enjoys being the person everyone relies on. You will work closely with Chicago market leadership and help build the processes and reporting the team uses as the market grows. Strong coordinators here grow into supervisor, analyst and management roles.

SCHEDULE

Full‑time, salaried, on‑site in Chicago. This role supports a 24/7 operation, so some early mornings, evenings or weekends are expected, especially around launch.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years in operations, dispatch, logistics, fleet, transportation or another fast‑moving operations environment.
• Strong organization and follow‑through: you close loops without being chased.
• Comfort with data. You are strong in Google Sheets or Excel and like using numbers to make decisions.
• Clear, calm communication with drivers, teammates and leadership, especially when things go sideways.
• Flexibility to support a 24/7 operation, including some early mornings, evenings or weekends.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience in rideshare, delivery, rental car or fleet operations.
• Experience with scheduling or fleet tools such as Deputy, Samsara, Fleetio or similar.
• Experience launching a new market, site or operation.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish).

COMPENSATION

• $65,000 - $70,000 per year, plus equity
