Job summary

Johnson & Johnson MedTech is seeking an Operations Co-Op for San Lorenzo, PR, to support a 2027 January–December term and a 40-hour work week. Under mentor guidance, you will work on department projects to boost process efficiency and overall quality of execution.

You will apply Lean/Six Sigma and FPX methodologies, assist with product/process development tasks, document results, and learn best practices in a global healthcare setting.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at an accredited University is required.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher, reflective of all college coursework.
  • Incumbent must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, in good academic standing, with at least two years of studies completed.
  • Previous Internship/Coop and/or Academic Research experience is preferred.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English; must write well in both languages.
  • Proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Visio and Minitab knowledge highly desirable.
  • Ability to assess issues, establish priorities, and act with a sense of urgency.

Responsibilities

  • Executes projects that increase process efficiencies, reduce cycle time, cost, and improve overall quality of execution within assigned department using project management methodologies (I.E. FPX).
  • Makes significant improvements in the assigned areas by using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Undertakes and completes basic project/product development tasks including writing/verifying specifications, maintaining documentation, testing processes, equipment, raw materials, and product validation.
  • May assist in creating concepts and designs/approaches for new products/processes/test methods.
  • Prepares standard reports/documentation to communicate results.
  • Comply with environmental, safety and occupational health policies (i.e., ISO14001 & OSHAS 18001).

We are searching for the best talent for Operations Co-Op to be in San Lorenzo PR.

  • The Co-op term is from January to December, 2027.
  • Full time requirement (40 hours per week)
Purpose

Under guidance of his/her mentor, the Coop Student will be assigned to a department and/or project to execute projects that increase process efficiencies, reduce cycle time, cost, and improve overall quality of execution.

You Will Be Responsible

  • Extracurricular experience in a student association/organization is a plus.
  • Requires fluency in Spanish and English; must have excellent ability to write in English and Spanish.
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Visio and Minitab knowledge is highly desirable.
  • Ability to assess issues and opportunities, establish priorities, and act with a sense of urgency.

Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.
