Job summary

Major League Baseball (MLB) is seeking an Operations Attendant for field-based duties at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex. You will support athletic and non-athletic events through setup, breakdown, and operational tasks under leadership guidance.

Responsibilities include coordinating layouts, moving equipment, maintaining storage areas, and assisting with clubhouse operations and gate duties. Strong communication and physical stamina are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Physical stamina and mobility; ability to lift, reach, kneel, and bend.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 pounds regularly.

Responsibilities

• Participate in event and daily operational setups and breakdowns across JRTC facilities.
• Execute event layouts, room setups, and field support elements as directed by Operations leadership and Lead Attendants.
• Set up, move, and arrange furniture, equipment, barricades, cones, and signage; assist with safe movement and breakdown.
• Follow proper lifting techniques, equipment uses, and safety practices during all tasks.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of Operations storage spaces and return furniture/equipment to storage locations.
• Support clubhouse operations including locker rooms, laundry, hydration stations, and preparation of support spaces; assist with dugout, seating bowl, and exterior operations.
• Monitor and remove garbage around facility grounds, especially exterior locations.
• Assist with gate operations: directing vehicle traffic, parking, guest directions, and processing payments for events.
• Receive incoming shipments: unloading, moving to staging/storage areas, and supporting inventory processes.
• Report equipment issues, damages, missing items, or safety concerns to the Senior Coordinator and complete tasks before next assignment.

About the Role

The Operations Attendant is a field-based role responsible for executing daily facility operations and event setups at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex (JRTC). This position supports athletic and non-athletic events by performing physical setup, breakdown, and operational support tasks under the direction of Operations leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in event and daily operational setups and breakdowns across JRTC facilities.
• Execute event layouts, room setups, and field support elements as directed by Operations leadership and Lead Attendants.
• Set up, move, and arrange furniture, equipment, barricades, cones, and signage; assist with their safe movement, placement, and breakdown throughout the complex.
• Follow proper lifting techniques, equipment uses, and safety practices during all tasks.
• Assist with maintaining organisation and cleanliness of Operations storage spaces and return furniture and equipment to designated storage locations after use.
• Support clubhouse operations as assigned, including locker rooms, laundry support, hydration stations, and preparation of support spaces; assist with dugout, seating bowl, and exterior operational support tasks.
• Assist in monitoring and removing garbage around facility grounds, with a focus on exterior locations, to maintain a clean and inviting environment for guests.
• Assist with gate operations, including directing vehicle traffic, safely parking vehicles, providing guest directions, and processing payments for designated events.
• Assist with receiving incoming shipments, including unloading, moving items to designated staging or storage areas, and supporting inventory processes.
• Report equipment issues, damages, missing items, or safety concerns to the Senior Coordinator, Facilities & Event Operations, and complete assigned tasks fully and accurately before transitioning to the next assignment.
