Job summary

Global Sports Jobs Limited is seeking a General Cleaner for the Jackie Robinson Training Complex (JRTC) in Vero Beach, Florida. The role involves cleaning interior buildings and assisting with housekeeping tasks to support year-round amateur development events.

You will maintain floors, furnishings, bathrooms, and common areas, report hazards, and assist guests as needed. Evening and weekend hours may be required to ensure high standards and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Physical stamina and mobility required to perform cleaning duties.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull load(s) around the facility (usually about 30 lbs).
• Effective communication with guests, coworkers, and managers.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors by dry/wet mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and spot cleaning.
• Dust, disinfect, and polish furnishings and fixtures; clean ledges and vents.
• Empty waste baskets and manage trash disposal.
• Clean bathrooms; restock supplies and sanitize fixtures.
• Report damages or safety hazards to management.
• Assist guests with requests and housekeeping tasks as needed.
• Stock housekeeping supply areas and keep carts organized.

About the Role

The General Cleaner is responsible for cleaning all Jackie Robinson Training Complex (JRTC) related buildings, facilities, and equipment, primarily interior and occasionally exterior. The JRTC, operated by Major League Baseball in Vero Beach, Florida, serves as a year-round hub for amateur development initiatives and events, including the Nike RBI World Series and the Hank Aaron Invitational. The role supports the facility's operations by maintaining cleanliness and assisting with housekeeping duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean floors: dry mop, wet mop, sweep, disinfect, vacuum, and spot clean carpeting and rugs
• Clean furnishings and fixtures including dusting, spot cleaning or washing, disinfecting, and polishing; clean ledges, shelves, vents, etc
• Straighten furniture and inspect for wear and defects
• Empty, clean, and reline waste baskets; empty and clean ashtrays
• Clean bathrooms: clean and disinfect all fixtures, floors, and walls; wash windows and mirrors; replenish bathroom supplies
• Clean walls, windows, doors, and ceilings: wash, disinfect, and spot clean between washings; clean ceiling fixtures and wall hangings
• Clean stairways, entrances, and exits
• Clean all employee work areas including offices, break rooms, bathrooms, and meeting rooms
• Stock and maintain housekeeping supply rooms and carts
• Ensure a high level of customer service is performed at all times
• Assist guests with requests and questions as necessary
• Report any damages or repairs needed to management
• Report any maintenance or safety hazards
• Report all lost and found items to the Manager, Housekeeping
• Assist with housekeeping (hotel room cleaning) and laundry duties as needed

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel, and bend
• Ability to lift, push, and pull required load (usually about 30 lbs)
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers, and managers
• Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Preferred Skills

• One (1) year of housekeeping experience strongly preferred but not required
• One (1) year of general cleaning experience preferred but not required
