Overview
The Operations Team members are responsible for the cleanliness of the facilities and for pre and post event set-up and tear-down for the Atlantic City Convention Center and Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall. Operations Attendants provide and maintain the cleanliness throughout the entire venue as well as keeping the environment safe and hazard free for entertainers, guests, patrons, and staff. They are responsible for the pre-event set up, ensuring the venue is ready to go for “SHOW TIME”!They must communicate in a friendly, respectful and understanding manner with both colleagues and guests alike. They must politely give consistent, timely and accurate information and find answers when unsure. Oversee part time personnel during shift and maintaining the appearance of the facility and all associated equipment. Must be a team player, cooperate with employees within the department as well as other departments.
This role will pay an hourly wage of $17.45 (per CBA).
Benefits as per the union agreement.
This position will remain open until July 15, 2025.
Responsibilities
- Ensures that the needs of events during his/her shift are being met.
- Oversees the set-up of meeting rooms to ensure client requests are met.
- Ensures the cleanliness of meeting rooms, common areas and pathways to and from the building and meeting room, during his/her shift.
- Ability to quickly understand and execute specific directions
- Directs and assists staff with daily workload including set-up and tear-down of rooms sets, cleaning rooms and common areas, as well as back of the house.
- Attends and contributes to Operations meetings as scheduled.
- Serve as advisor to Operations Management regarding the execution of Convention Center/Boardwalk Hall policies and goals.
- Ensures that all Convention Center and Boardwalk Hall equipment is handled and stored properly and reports all deficiencies to the Operations Manager or Director of Operations.
- Must be observant and attentive to Housekeeping and Facility issues throughout the building(s)
- Must be willing and able to work flexible hours as established by the facility’s needs.
- Be flexible in accepting daily assignments / duties
- Responsible for training and identifying safety hazards and precautions for the part time staff.
- Responsible for maintaining standards training for new and existing employees.
- Ensures that event areas are ready for client inspection and handles all event checklists.
- Ability to physically perform the duties required of this position
- Ability to follow and respond appropriately to oral and written instruction
- Understand and comply with safety policies and procedures

Qualifications
- Must be able to work safely in an environment containing caustic chemicals & cleaning materials (with appropriate personal protective equipment), debris, dust, and trash.
- Routinely required to work indoors and outdoors in the weather conditions prevalent at the time.
- The noise level in the work environments is minimal to moderate during non-event times and moderate to loud during event times.
- Typical hours include nights, weekends and holidays as necessary.
