Job summary

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in derivatives operations, clearing, trade support or a similar post-trade role.
• Experience supporting futures, options or other exchange-traded derivatives.
• Knowledge of clearing brokers, exchanges and market service providers.

Responsibilities

A Financial Services Firm based in New York City is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as an Operations Associate, Futures & Options.

Responsibilities:

• Process and oversee daily post-trade activity for futures, options, and other exchange-traded derivatives
• Manage lifecycle events, including give-ups, expirations, exercises, assignments, and related position updates
• Monitor clearing activity and ensure transactions are processed accurately and within required deadlines
• Perform daily controls and reconciliations to identify and resolve trade, position, and settlement discrepancies
• Coordinate with trading, middle office, operations, brokers, and other service providers to address time-sensitive issues
• Serve as an escalation point for complex operational exceptions and ensure issues are resolved promptly
• Maintain accurate records and reporting related to clearing activity and outstanding exceptions
• Support new products, markets, counterparties, and operational initiatives
• Partner with business and technology teams to improve workflows, strengthen controls, and reduce manual processes
• Identify opportunities to enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of derivatives operations

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in derivatives operations, clearing, trade support, or a related post-trade function
• Experience supporting futures, options, or other exchange-traded derivatives

• Experience investigating and resolving trade, position, clearing, and settlement exceptions
• Strong understanding of how trading activity affects downstream operational and accounting processes
