Rentec is seeking an Equity Analyst to support the Operations team by investigating trade and position breaks, analyzing corporate actions, and monitoring financing. The role also involves identifying process improvements and supporting new markets, products, and funds.

Responsibilities include daily reconciliation with prime brokers, cross-system validation (Advent Geneva), and maintaining counterparty issue lists. Strong Excel skills and a finance/analytical background are required.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in finance, information systems, mathematics, or another analytical/engineering field.
• 2–5 years of experience in financial services.
• Equity derivatives knowledge and trade lifecycle experience preferred.
• Strong data analysis skills and advanced Excel proficiency.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor, analyze, and reconcile trading accounts daily by liaising with prime and executing brokers.
• Reconcile accounts across counterparties, trading systems, and Advent Geneva including cash, positions, activity, and income/expenses.
• Maintain counterparty issue lists and coordinate review meetings to drive resolution of open items.
• Support projects by conducting root-cause analysis, identifying issues, and documenting technical requirements.
• Leverage technology to support user testing and implementation of operational improvements.
• Collaborate with Production Monitoring, Treasury, Accounting, and Tax to optimize departmental procedures.

Trade Support/Business Analytics

The Equity Analyst is expected to contribute substantially to the work of the Operations team by investigating trade and position breaks, analyzing corporate actions, monitoring financing, and performing counterparty oversight. The role also requires candidates to identify opportunities to streamline current procedures and processes as well as to provide support for all new markets, products, and funds.

Responsibilities

• monitor, analyze, and reconcile trading accounts daily by liaising with prime and executing brokers
• reconcile accounts across counterparties, trading systems, and the internal portfolio accounting system (Advent Geneva) in the following areas:
  • account balances and trade-related activity - cash, positions (quantity and market value), activity, and dividend accruals/payments
  • non-trade-related activity - asset servicing/corporate actions, dividends paid, interest, ticket charges and commission postings, and other fees
  • financing charges
• maintain counterparty issue lists, coordinate counterparty review meetings, and manage open issues to resolution
• support various projects by conducting root-cause analysis to identify issues, recommend solutions, and document technical requirements
• leverage technology to support user testing and the implementation of operational improvements
• optimize existing departmental procedures in close collaboration with the firm's other teams, including Production Monitoring, Treasury, Accounting, and Tax

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

• a bachelor's degree in finance, information systems, mathematics, or another analytical or engineering field from a strong academic program
• 2-5 years of experience in the financial services field
• experience preferred from a top-tier multi-strategy investment firm, investment bank, or fund administrator
• knowledge of the trade lifecycle required, with equity derivatives experience preferred
• corporate action processing experience (considered a plus)
• strong data analysis skills with advanced Excel proficiency
