Purpose Statement
The job of Operations Associate 2 - Safety, Security & Custodial is done for the purpose of providing all fiscal operational processes for Safety and Security (5.3m annual budget); assisting all school sites with safety and security processes, inventory, and personnel; managing a variety of security personnel processes; assigning compensation for security staff; working with the Junior Police Academy; overseeing security uniform purchases; managing all permit processes for security personnel; managing grant fund projects; maintaining all District security camera processes; assigning security alarm codes; visiting all District sites to update security processes; assisting help desk and maintenance department; overseeing, daily, additional complex variety of District Security processes.
Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge is required to perform algebra and/or geometry; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and solve practical problems. Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: Basic knowledge of all District site safety/security operations; school safety and security practices; all applicable codes, laws, regulations related to safety and security; knowledge of budget development and financial management.
Skills are required to perform multiple technical tasks, and periodic skill upgrades are needed to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: assessing safety and security inventory; coordinating and collaborating with district sites, staff, and administration; training new staff; developing projects; communicating effectively; and adhering to safety practices and procedures.
Ability is required to schedule a number of activities, meetings, and/or events; often gather, collate, and/or classify data; and consider a variety of factors when using equipment. Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; analyze data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using a variety of processes. Ability is also required to work with a diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with data of varied types and/or purposes; and utilize a variety of job-related equipment. Problem-solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem-solving with data requires independent interpretation of guidelines, and problem-solving with equipment is moderate. Specific ability-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include adapting to changing work priorities; meeting deadlines and schedules; communicating with persons of diverse backgrounds; being available on-call; working as part of a team; providing budget planning; working seamlessly, with constant interruptions; solving staff and equipment problems; and providing effective safety and security processes at all district sites.
Responsibilities include working under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; directing other persons within a small work unit; directing the use of budgeted funds within a work unit. Utilization of resources from other work units is often required to perform the job's functions. There is a continual opportunity to impact the organization’s services.
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands:
significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some climbing and balancing, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 40% sitting, 30% walking, 30% standing. The job is performed in minimal temperature variations and under conditions with some risk of injury and/or illness.
Experience: Job-related experience is required.
Education: Targeted job-related education that meets the organization’s prerequisite requirements.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The individual who holds this position is regularly required to walk, hear, and speak, and must have close, moderate, and distance vision ability. This individual must be able to travel between district facilities. The position requires moderate travel and physical activity.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and twelve-month work calendar to be established by the Board of Education. Benefits according to Board policies.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluations utilizing the Performance-Based Support Staff Evaluation process.
