Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist with all store functions and day-to-day store activities as directed by the Store Manager.
2. Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
3. Help protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
4. Adhere to all policies and safety guidelines.
5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
6. Keep all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
7. When the Store Manager is not present, assume direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates.
8. Process all directives from corporate, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and Key Survey information.
9. Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies and procedures.
10. Ensure proper staffing coverage daily.
11. Maintain sales effectiveness on the sales floor daily.
12. Manage cashiering activities to ensure cash handling practices and guidelines are followed.
13. Manage promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
14. Oversee seasonal areas to maximize sales.
15. Coordinate store signage.
16. Handle damaged merchandise daily.
17. Assist with weekly scheduling.
18. Manage store supplies and control expenses.
19. Maintain the checkout area to maximize impulse sales.
20. Refill coolers and program racks/displays daily.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Preferred prior retail and management experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
