Responsible for assisting with all operational tasks within the store as delegated and assigned by the Store Manager, focusing on front-end and sales floor operations. Also assist with hiring, training, and development of store associates as delegated by the Store Manager.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and daily activities as directed by the Store Manager.
• Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Assist in protecting and securing all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and safety guidelines.
• Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
• Maintain all store areas to company standards, including recovery.
• When the Store Manager is not present, have direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates.
• Process all SSC corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and Key Survey information.
• Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies.
• Ensure proper staffing coverage daily and sales floor effectiveness.
• Manage cashiering activities to follow cash handling practices and guidelines.
• Coordinate store signage and promotional displays.
• Assist with seasonal merchandising and store supplies management.
• Help create weekly schedules and control expenses.
• Maintain checkout area to maximize impulse sales.
• Refill coolers and display racks daily (e.g., balloons, sunglasses, batteries).

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prefer prior retail and management experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
