Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities as directed by the Store Manager.
• Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Help protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Follow all policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
• Keep all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
• When the Store Manager is not present, take supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates.
• Process all corporate directives related to store activities, such as pull and hold/destroy, task compliance, and key survey information.
• Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies.
• Ensure proper staffing coverage daily.
• Help ensure the sales floor is sales-effective daily.
• Manage cashiering activities to ensure cash handling practices are followed.
• Manage promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Oversee seasonal areas to maximize sales.
• Coordinate signage used in the store.
• Process damaged merchandise daily.
• Assist with weekly schedule creation.
• Help manage store supplies and expenses.
• Assist with merchandising and maintaining checkout areas to maximize impulse sales.
• Ensure coolers and displays are refilled daily, including programs like balloons, sunglasses, batteries, etc.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
