Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist with all store functions and day-to-day store activities as directed by the Store Manager.
2. Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
3. Help protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
4. Follow all policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, staff, and supervisors.
6. Keep all areas of the store, including stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
7. When the Store Manager is not present, have direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly Associates.
8. Process all corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and Key Survey information.
9. Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies.
10. Ensure proper staffing coverage daily.
11. Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective daily.
12. Manage cashiering activities to follow cash handling practices and guidelines.
13. Maintain promotional displays and store signage.
14. Manage seasonal areas for sales effectiveness.
15. Coordinate signage used in the store.
16. Process damaged merchandise daily.
17. Assist in creating weekly schedules.
18. Help manage store supplies and control expenses.
19. Assist with merchandising and maintaining checkout area to maximize impulse sales.
20. Refill coolers and store-front displays daily, including programs like balloons, sunglasses, batteries, etc.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
