Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist with all store functions and day-to-day store activities as directed by the Store Manager.
2. Able to perform all opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
3. Assist the Store Manager in protecting and securing all company assets, including store cash.
4. Adhere to all policies and procedures including safety guidelines.
5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
6. Maintain all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
7. When the Store Manager is not on the premises, have direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly Associates.
8. Process all SSC Corporate directives including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and related communications as delegated by the Store Manager.
9. Assist the Store Manager with the receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD Policies and Procedures.
10. Ensure proper staffing coverage daily and that the sales floor is sales-effective.
11. Manage cashiering activities to ensure all cash handling practices & guidelines are followed.
12. Coordinate store signage, manage seasonal displays, and ensure merchandise replenishment.
13. Assist in managing store supplies and expense control.
14. Maintain checkout area for impulse sales and ensure coolers and displays are refilled daily.
15. Assist with creating weekly schedules and managing store operations as delegated by the Store Manager.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prefer prior retail and management experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
