Responsible for assisting with all operational tasks within the store as delegated and assigned by the Store Manager, with a main focus on front-end and sales floor operations. Also assist with hiring, training, and developing store associates as delegated by the Store Manager.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

1. Assist with all store functions and daily activities as directed by the Store Manager.
2. Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
3. Assist in protecting and securing all company assets, including store cash.
4. Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
6. Maintain all areas of the store, including stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
7. When the Store Manager is not present, have direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates.
8. Process all SSC corporate directives and store communications as delegated by the Store Manager.
9. Assist the Store Manager with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies.
10. Ensure proper staffing coverage daily and that the sales floor is sales-effective.
11. Manage cashiering activities to ensure cash handling practices are followed.
12. Oversee promotional displays and seasonal areas for effectiveness.
13. Coordinate signage and maintain store fixtures.
14. Process damaged merchandise daily.
15. Assist with creating weekly schedules and managing store supplies and expenses.
16. Help merchandise and maintain checkout area to maximize impulse sales.
17. Refill coolers and displays daily.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

1. Prior retail and management experience preferred.
2. Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
3. Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
4. Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
