Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist with all store functions and day-to-day store activities as directed by the Store Manager.
2. Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
3. Assist in protecting and securing all company assets, including store cash.
4. Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
6. Maintain all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
7. When the Store Manager is not on the premises, assume direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates.
8. Process all corporate directives, including pull and hold/destroy, task compliance, key survey information, and other store-related communications delegated by the Store Manager.
9. Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies and procedures.
10. Ensure proper staffing coverage daily.
11. Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective daily.
12. Manage cashiering activities to follow all cash handling practices and guidelines.
13. Manage promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
14. Oversee seasonal store areas for sales effectiveness.
15. Coordinate store signage.
16. Process damaged merchandise daily.
17. Assist in creating weekly schedules.
18. Manage store supplies and control expenses.
19. Assist with merchandising and maintaining checkout area to maximize impulse sales.
20. Ensure coolers and program racks/displays are refilled daily, including balloon programs, sunglasses, batteries, etc.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prefer prior retail and management experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
