Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day store activities as directed by the Store Manager.
• Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Help protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and safety guidelines.
• Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, staff, and supervisors.
• Keep all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
• When the Store Manager is not present, assume direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates.
• Handle store directives such as Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and Key Survey information.
• Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise following VIP and DSD policies.
• Ensure proper staffing coverage daily.
• Maintain sales effectiveness on the sales floor daily.
• Manage cashiering activities, ensuring cash handling practices are followed.
• Enhance promotional effectiveness through store fixtures and displays.
• Manage seasonal store areas for sales effectiveness.
• Coordinate signage used in the store.
• Process damaged merchandise daily.
• Assist with creating weekly schedules.
• Manage store supplies and control expenses.
• Maintain the checkout area to maximize impulse sales.
• Ensure coolers and displays are refilled daily, including balloon programs, sunglasses, batteries, etc.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prefer prior retail and management experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
