About the Role
LHH is partnering with an organization looking for an Operations Assistant to join their Operations team in Middle River, MD. This is an administrative, customer-service-focused role that sits at the center of our day-to-day operations and keeps information, paperwork, drivers, warehouse activity, and customers moving in the right direction. You’ll coordinate check-ins, make sure the warehouse team knows when deliveries arrive, process the paperwork once a delivery is complete, and enter accurate information into our Warehouse Management System (WMS).
What You’ll Do
- Serve as the primary point of contact at the receiving window for drivers, vendors, carriers, and visitors.
- Check in incoming drivers and review paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel when deliveries arrive and direct drivers to the appropriate area.
- Receive completed delivery paperwork and accurately enter information into the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Update customer inventory and shipment statuses and ensure delivery information is accurately recorded.
- Review and process driver logs, bills of lading, inventories, freight bills, accessorial charges, and other operational documentation.
- Scan, upload, and task paperwork within company systems to support billing and payroll processes.
- Receive and inspect incoming freight, verifying quantities and condition against shipping documents.
- Tag, label, and track freight to ensure proper identification and inventory control.
- Create, maintain, and update storage files, logs, and operational records.
- Prepare and distribute inventory reports and other operational documentation.
- Coordinate with customer service, drivers, warehouse personnel, carriers, and third-party vendors.
- Assist with third-party services at origin and destination locations and maintain related records.
- Contact customers as needed regarding shipment details, delivery schedules, and service updates.
- Support final-mile delivery activities through documentation and administrative coordination.
- Provide general administrative support to the Operations Department.
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1–2 years of experience in customer service, logistics, transportation, warehousing, distribution, moving & storage, or a related operational environment preferred.
- Experience in the moving and storage industry is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with warehouse, logistics, or transportation management systems preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
