Job summary

United Natural Foods, Inc. is seeking a payroll/timekeeping professional to support the General Manager and Distribution Center.

The role focuses on Kronos timekeeping, scheduling, incentive payments, status changes, and payroll adjustments, while partnering with managers to manage attendance. Ideal candidates have 2–4 years of experience, strong communication and analytical skills, and knowledge of wage and hour laws.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Kronos timekeeping, preferably in a union environment.

Responsibilities

  • Resolves routine payroll problems.

  • Assist in maintaining shifts and schedules in Kronos.
  • Support attendance management with supervision and HR.
  • Run reports for management and process payroll adjustments.

Job description

PURPOSE

This position supports the General Manager and Distribution Center. The main purpose of this role is to maintain Kronos timekeeping, schedule/shift changes, incentive payments, status changes and process payroll adjustments etc. Partner with Managers/Supervisors to manage Attendance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Timekeeping
  • Resolves routine payroll problems.
  • Maintain associate timecards.
  • Possesses a general knowledge of payroll procedure.
  • Resolves associate payroll problems through regular communication with Payroll Department and Human Resources.
  • Possesses good understanding of contracts or labor agreements in terms of pay rules in assigned division.
  • Assist in maintaining shifts and schedules in Kronos.
  • Helps maintain the correct policies and procedures related to payroll processing.
  • Assist in training other timekeepers.
Attendance
  • Partner with Managers/Supervisors to maintain hourly attendance.
  • Monitor draft and volunteer associate attendance
  • Assist with managing associate’s attendance points by updating E-Tracker System.
  • Forward all Absenteeism Reports to Human Resources yearly.
General Support
  • Ability to run Kronos reports for management
  • Run hour and labor reports for management.
  • Order office supplies as needed.
  • Forward all corrective actions to Human Resources for filing.
  • Process bided positions changes in Kronos.
  • Process separation forms and submit to Human Resources.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education/Certification
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
  • Requires 2 to 4 years of previous related experience.
Knowledge
  • Working knowledge of Wage and Hour laws.
  • Previous experience with Kronos timekeeping, preferably in a Union environment.
  • Possess good math skills and figures aptitude.
  • Possess a general understanding of accounting payroll principles and the procedures, terminology and practices involved.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/ DEMANDS
  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
  • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment in the course of normal workday
  • Stooping, bending, twisting and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
  • Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

Compensation:

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements.
