Job description

The Operations and Supply Chain Analyst is an innovative leader who combines strategic thinking with operational excellence and brings a strong background in procurement, analytical skills and process improvement to the pFriem team.

Who we are:

pFriem (pronounced “freem”) artisanal beers are symphonies of flavor and balance, influenced by the great brewers of Europe, but unmistakably true to our homegrown roots in the Pacific Northwest. We are guided by a religious commitment to quality and the never-ending pursuit of innovation. Although they are served humbly, each glass is overflowing with pride and a relentless aspiration to brew the best beer in the world.

About the role:

The Operations and Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for evaluating the data and process flows across the production, logistics, and procurement functions to improve efficiencies, lower costs, and improve the overall movement of goods through the brewery. The role reports to the Chief Financial and Business Operations Officer and works closely with the Director of Brewery Operations and other key brewery stakeholders to achieve financial and operational targets within the Brewery.

A breakdown of major responsibilities:
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, and Finance to align supply chain activities with business needs driving efficiency, cost-effectiveness and quality across our supply chain
  • Develop and maintain strong and strategic relationships with key suppliers
  • Lead supplier negotiations related to pricing, lead times, MOQs, payment terms, and service levels
  • Identify and pursue cost reduction, lead-time reduction and performance opportunities across the supply chain and all other areas of brewery spending
  • Identify root causes of supplier delays, shortages, or quality issues and drive corrective actions
  • Provide monthly reporting to the brewery on usage for key raw material contracts such as hops and malt and proactively identify changes/contract adjustments
  • Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies (dual sourcing, safety stock, alternate suppliers etc)
  • Analyze and streamline procurement workflows to ensure a seamless operational flow of materials
  • Work with the warehouse supervisor to ensure material flows between sites are controlled and efficient
  • Ensure inventory cycle count procedures are followed
  • Work with the brewery team to improve processes associated with recipe changes to ensure proper inventory levels

Your qualifications:
  • 5 years of experience in supply chain or operations finance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Finance
  • Beverage alcohol experience preferred, manufacturing experience required
  • Self-driven, organized, and flexible to grow and learn new systems and processes
