Project logistics is a specialized subset of the logistics industry that requires a fully integrated approach to the global orchestration of material flow, order management, and shipment execution from multiple origins to a defined site location. This includes transportation of regular, out-of-gauge cargo (OOG), and other sensitive cargo across various transport modes (Ocean, Air, Land) to deliver in full, on time, and in the right sequence per the customer’s project plan and schedule.

At Maersk, our Project Logistics product teams combine traditional freight forwarding and transport capabilities with specialized skills needed for complex project planning, transport engineering, procurement, and HSSEQ compliance. Our experts design project transport solutions, manage specialized cargo transportation, and provide project management services, including detailed planning, orchestration, and sequencing of end-to-end shipments from suppliers to often remote and austere destination sites.

The Operations Agent owns the operational execution across Ocean and Logistics, responsible for file creation, coordination, and closure of shipment files.

On any given day, the Operations Agent will be:

• Creating and executing customer shipments according to the implementation plan and customer requirements with regard to QHSE and reporting.
• Understanding external factors impacting the customer’s supply chain and their sense of urgency, service needs, drivers, and desires.
• Aligning with customer expectations upfront and responding with suggested solutions.
• Being the primary point of contact for customers and ensuring smooth execution of the end-to-end shipment lifecycle, including inland delivery, working closely with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Proactively tracking shipments and notifying customers of relevant deviations from the transport plan, including potential solutions or alternatives.
• Onboarding customers and building strong, collaborative relationships, with a willingness to go the extra mile and focus on providing solutions.
• Liaising with and preparing transport plans with suppliers.

We are looking for:

• Project freight forwarding experience with 3-5 years’ experience.
• Experience with sales support, tender management, and operations.
• Extensive execution experience across all transport modes, including OOG cargo from A-Z.
• Good knowledge of local and international freight forwarding operations, including customs clearance requirements.
• Customer-facing engagement and presentation skills.
• Strong ability to facilitate cross-functional decision-making across regions, products, and stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills.
• Willingness to attend site visits such as customer/vendor visits and field operations if required.
• Willingness to work out of office hours if required.
• Ability to work independently, adapt to changes, and contribute as a team member.
• Ability to maintain good relationships with all stakeholders, including internal/external customers, vendors, truckers, stevedores, port operators, and carriers.
• Ensure procurement and evaluation of offers from sub-contractors comply with MPL standards.
• Maintain and update data integrity on TMS – Cargowise.
• Prior project management experience.
