Job summary

The h.wood Group, a Los Angeles-based lifestyle and hospitality company, seeks an Operations Accounting Manager to own the day-to-day venue accounting and end-to-end accounts payable. You will lead Staff Accountants and coordinate with our third-party partner to ensure accurate, timely transactional data that feeds consolidated financial reporting.

Responsibilities include venue-level close, AP processing, vendor management, and process improvements across multiple venues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years supervising staff.
• Hospitality industry accounting experience strongly preferred; multi-unit venue ops experience considered.
• Demonstrated ownership of a full AP cycle and vendor management.
• Strong month-end close experience: journal entries, accruals, reconciliations.
• Advanced Excel skills: pivot tables, lookups, large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Oversee venue-level accounting operations across all venues, including daily sales reconciliation and cash/credit card settlements.
• Own venue-level month-end close: accruals, prepaids, recurring journal entries, intercompany allocations, balance sheet reconciliations.
• Review venue P&L for reasonableness and resolve variances and misclassifications.
• Lead AP processing with third-party partner: invoicing, coding accuracy, three-way match, approvals, posting.
• Manage AP aging, vendor inquiries, and 1099 preparations; ensure timely check runs and payments.
• Supervise Staff Accountants; establish procedures and cross-coverage across venues.
