Sammons Financial Group is seeking a role focused on investment operations, cash matching, and reconciliation. You will learn and apply knowledge of fixed income, equities, derivatives and bank loans while supporting audit reporting and operational efficiency.

Collaborate with accounting and reporting teams to maintain financial data integrity, and handle trade batching, compliance with internal controls, and data analysis to support monthly closes and risk management.

Qualificações

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Management preferred.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies quickly and accurately.
  • Meticulousness in handling financial transactions, reconciliation and reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Responsabilidades

  • Perform cash matching activities to ensure accurate tracking of outgoing cash flows related to investment transactions.
  • Conduct reconciliation processes daily identify and resolve discrepancies between internal records and bank statements.
  • Batch trades efficiently, preparing them for processing while ensuring accuracy in the transaction data.
  • Develop foundational understanding of investment vehicles including fixed income, equities, derivatives and bank loans.
  • Learn transactional functions and operational aspects of different investment types including security master setup and income calculation.
  • Contribute to operational process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy and productivity.
  • Facilitate investigation and resolution of operational issues with investment managers and custodians.
  • Ensure adherence to internal control policies to maintain data integrity.
  • Utilize financial systems and software tools to execute responsibilities with precision.
  • Compile and analyze operational data for reporting to Investment Accounting teams.

What You'll Do In This Role

  • Batch trades efficiently, preparing them for processing while ensuring accuracy in the transaction data.
  • Develop a foundational understanding of various investment vehicles including fixed income, equities, derivatives and bank loans.
  • Learn the transactional functions and operational aspects of different investment types including the key details of security master setup and income calculation.
  • Contribute to the improvement of operational processes to enhance overall efficiency, accuracy and productivity.
  • Facilitate the investigation and resolution of operational issues as they arise which includes working with various investment managers and custodians to ensure minimal impact on daily operations.
  • Ensure strict adherence to internal control policies to maintain integrity and security of financial data.
  • Utilize various financial systems and software tools to execute responsibilities with high precision.
  • Compile and analyze operational data for reporting purposes, supporting the various Investment Accounting teams.
  • Establish productive working relationships within the team and across departments to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Support the development and growth of the team through cross-training and procedural reviews.
  • Engage in continuous education and training to stay abreast with industry best practices; begin to learn financial regulations.
  • Work overtime, when required, to meet team deadlines during peak periods of month-end, quarter-end and year-end cycles.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Management Preferred
  • 1 year experience in bookkeeping, data entry, accounting and/or controls over financial reporting Preferred
  • Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies quickly and accurately
  • Meticulousness in handling financial transactions, reconciliation and reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal and regulatory standards
  • Capability to efficiently resolve discrepancies and operational issues that arise, ensuring minimal impact on daily operations and financial integrity
  • A foundational grasp of various investment vehicles or a strong desire to learn
  • Strong quantitative skills to accurately conduct reconciliations and trade batching
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team setting, collaborating with other departments to gather insights, resolve issues and contribute to projects
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to clearly convey information and interact with team members and managers
  • Strong capability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently, maintaining organization and attention to detail even under pressure
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies
  • Some travel to Sammons Financial Group office locations and conferences may be required.

Other Requirements

  • Criminal background check required.
  • This role will be subject to a SEC compliance program, which can include monitoring personal securities transactions, restrictions on outside business activities, as well as other oversight and restrictions.

Salary Range Information USD $40,223.00 - USD $75,419.00 /Yr. Range includes data points from multiple labor markets. Specific range is dependent on the labor market where the incumbent will be hired to perform the position. Starting salary is dependent on candidate qualifications and experience. For a narrower salary range specific to your labor market, please inquire.
