Mellott in Warfordsburg is seeking an Operations Accountant to manage financial records and reports while supporting budgeting and forecasting activities. The Operations Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity and operational efficiency of the organization by managing and analyzing accounting data related to daily business operations. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing detailed reports, and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities to drive informed decision-making. The Operations Accountant collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including finance, operations, and management to streamline processes and improve financial controls. By monitoring operational costs and identifying variances, this role helps optimize resource allocation and enhance profitability. Ultimately, the Operations Accountant contributes to the overall financial health and strategic growth of the company through meticulous accounting and insightful financial analysis.

Use of analytical skills to review and account for operational transactions across multiple companies.
Provide analysis, management reporting, planning, and accounting support to our growing business
Prepare balance sheets and profit and loss statements, and other financial reports
Responsibilities also include:
Budgeting and Forecasting
Financial month end close process
Monthly results commentary
Creating and Preparing financial analysis
Track and communicate capital expenditure projects
Ad hoc reporting
Assisting departments and other finance/accounting team members
Tracking and monitoring of internal projects including long term projects on % complete method
Special projects as assigned by the Director of Financial Reporting

Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting; CPA preferred but not necessary.
Experience Requirements:
5+ years of relevant accounting/financial analysis experience within in a manufacturing, distribution, or construction environment.
