Job summary

Lynker is seeking a Senior Oceanographer to develop and optimize wave and storm surge models within operational architectures, helping protect coastal communities from flooding and surge.

The role requires validating outputs with Python and advanced statistics, leveraging WAVEWATCH III, SLOSH, and ADCIRC, and collaborating with cross-functional teams and government partners, including work with NWS to transition research to operations.

Qualifications

• MS in oceanography, meteorology, or coastal engineering plus 7+ years experience.
• Experience with WAVEWATCH III, SLOSH, ADCIRC, HPC, and object-oriented programming.
