Job summary

Eurofins USA Genomic Services seeks an Operational Support Specialist I to join our on-site team in River Falls, Wisconsin. This entry-level role supports sample intake, lab readiness, data entry, and routine communications with lab staff.

The position emphasizes accuracy, organization, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. You will receive training and work closely with senior staff to ensure proper sample handling, documentation, and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to communicate with subordinates, peers, supervisors, and possibly customers.
• Energetic, innovative, creative, people person with excellent verbal and written communication.
• High attention to detail and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Direct sample flow and preparation in an efficient manner.
• Register samples, label, proof, divide and deliver to labs.
• Communicate to Group Lead and lab staff regarding short seed and requests for additional.
• Prepare, distribute, and retain Sample Entry Reports.
• Update sample data and issue revised Sample Entry Reports as needed.
• Assist to deliver consumables to labs and ship sample bags and ICO samples.
• Answer and direct phone calls and mail final EBDI testing certificates.
• Maintain ISO documentation and assist with handling out-of-specification samples and investigations.

• Prepare, distribute, and retain Sample Entry Reports appropriately
• Update sample data and issue revised Sample Entry Reports where changes are needed
• Assist to deliver consumables to labs
• Ship sample bags, ICO samples, etc. using FedEx, UPS, others as requested
• Answer and direct phone calls
• Mail final official EBDI testing certificates
• Effectively communicate personnel issues to Group Lead
• Participate in maintaining ISO documentation
• Assist customers and Group Lead with handling out-of-specification samples, investigations, root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action plans
• Maintain confidentiality regarding customer, samples, and employee information
• Cross train/work in labs on an as needed basis
• Assistance in seed disposal event disposal of retain samples and waste
• Associates degree in administrative or related field preferred.
• The incumbent must have good organizational skills and the ability to communicate with subordinates, peers, supervisors, and possibly customers.
• Be a highly energetic, innovative, creative, people person.
• Effective communicator and ability to cross train in lab areas.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Competent with use of Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, One Note, and Power Point
