Job summary

You will serve as a METEOROLOGIST in the CLIMATOLOGY DIVISION of FLT NUMER OCEANGPHY METEO CTR. You will develop and distribute tailored climatology products requested by warfighters to support a wide range of decisions.

You will seek out improved climatology datasets and methodologies for operational production, design and utilize software tools for data manipulation, and contribute to inter-agency efforts in climatology.

Qualifications

Experience evaluating forecasting practices, methods and techniques for weather analysis and prediction.
Experience evaluating METOC data to produce METOC products.
Experience using programming languages and Linux to manipulate large scientific datasets.

Responsibilities

Develop and distribute climatology products for warfighters in support of decisions.
Evaluate datasets and methodologies for operational climatology production.
Design and use software tools for climatology data manipulation to meet mission requirements.
Maintain and upgrade observational and reanalysis databases used in analyses.
Present results in public forums and contribute to inter-agency discussions.
