Job summary

NXP Semiconductors in the United States is seeking an Operational Excellence supervisor to manage a multi-disciplined technical staff across production areas in ATMC Fab and drive continuous improvement opportunities in development, PM planning and execution.

You will coach and mentor staff, oversee safety and training, ensure quality and delivery targets, and report to the Operations Excellence Section Manager.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience in wafer fab manufacturing preferred.
  • BS or related field preferred but not required.
  • Effective leadership, team building and decision making.
  • Understanding of business/management principles preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel and MS Office applications.
  • Strong communication with management and teams.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee safety in a manufacturing environment.
  • Provide safety training and ensure compliance.
  • Direct and coordinate team development activities.
  • Meet quality and delivery expectations including product inspections and Equipment PMs.
  • Provide strategic and tactical direction for supervisors.
  • Schedule shift coverage for MST and Sustainer areas.
  • Own Equipment PM and Sustainer metrics on shift.
  • Develop training plans and staffing for direct reports.
  • Drive continuous improvement of SDQCP metrics.

Job description

Job Summary: Operational Excellence supervisor role reporting to Ian Francis. You will be expected to manage a multi disciplined technical staff across all production areas in ATMC Fab and provide continuous improvement opportunities for development, PM planning and Execution.

  • Supervise their safety in manufacturing environment
  • Responsible for employee safety training and compliance to expectations
  • Direct and coordinate the development activities for team
  • Own execution to all quality and delivery expectations including, but not limited to, product inspections and Equipment PMs
  • Provide technical, strategic, and tactical direction for the Supervisors direct reports
  • Schedule shift coverage for the area MST and Sustainer
  • Own Equipment PM performance metrics on shift
  • Own Sustainer Disposition metrics on shift
  • Develop training plans and staffing requirements for direct reports
  • Drive projects & achieve goals for continuous improvement of SDQCP metrics
  • Develop and evaluate personnel to ensure quality work is performed
  • Teach, coach and mentor through development of the cultural attributes of Total Quality
  • Provide reports to the area Operations Excellence Section Manager
Job Qualifications
  • 5+ years' experience in a wafer fab manufacturing environment preferred
  • BS or equivalent in a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Must have demonstrated effective leadership abilities, cohesive team building and sound decision making
  • Understanding of business and management principles and practices preferred
  • Knowledge of human resource management principles and procedures preferred
  • Must be proficient in Excel and other relevant software applications (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • Must have good communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to management, direct reports and support teams
  • Must display strong ethics and a desire to win mentality
  • Previous leadership/supervision experience is a plus
  • Engineering and/or equipment maintenance experience is a plus
