Job summary

NXP Semiconductors in Austin, TX seeks an Equipment Engineer to identify and reduce machine faults, source and install new equipment, and reduce defectivity in a high-volume semiconductor environment.

The role includes defining maintenance procedures, training technicians, and improving tool utilization and reliability while driving cost reductions. Strong communication and cross-functional coordination are essential.

Qualifications

  • BS in an engineering discipline; Mechanical Engineering desirable.
  • 5 years’ experience in equipment engineering in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with AM Producer/Centura; knowledge of Endura/Ultima/RTA is a plus.
  • Ability to generate, analyze, and interpret equipment performance data and craft action plans for recurring failures.
  • Demonstrated presentation skills; ability to train others and present complex datasets.

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in at least one or more of the following tools/processes required: Applied Materials Producer, Applied Materials Centura.
  • Experience in Applied Materials Endura, Ultima, and RTA platforms is a plus.
  • Ability to generate, analyze, and interpret equipment performance data and produce a timely action plan to resolve recurring equipment failures
  • Demonstrated presentation skills. Candidate will be called upon to train others and present complex datasets and equipment problems/ solutions to diverse audiences.
  • Competent in troubleshooting problems and capable of applying logic to isolate and repair them.
  • Ability to deal with multiple issues and shifting priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with manufacturing technicians and process engineering to deal with issues and priorities.
  • Good foundational problem-solving skills with creative solutions and out-of-the-box thinking.
  • Self-motivated; able to take initiative and effectively prioritize work for self.
  • A strong desire to help create a positive, winning, world class working environment.
  • Previous experience in Lean Manufacturing methods is highly desirable.
