Freeport-McMoRan Inc. seeks an Operational Excellence Engineer II to interpret data, optimize performance, and lead engineering-driven improvements at Morenci, AZ.

You will guide teams through design thinking, establish KPIs, and mentor colleagues while delivering scalable solutions to enhance safety, efficiency and production rates. The role requires a Bachelor's (or Master’s) in Engineering with relevant experience, plus knowledge of SAP, SQL, Python, and statistical methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 3+ years of related experience or Master's degree with 1+ year experience.
• Experience in probability, statistical analysis and reliability engineering is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with data-driven approach.
• Familiarity with mining engineering processes and safety practices is desirable.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Interpret data and synthesize into actionable business recommendations.
• Lead performance optimization in execution and adoption of solutions.
• Facilitate collaboration sessions using brainstorming, fact-finding, and design thinking.
• Drive change with clear narratives linking purpose, strategy and actions.
• Review KPIs and establish metrics based on engineering analysis and data.
