Job summary

Heraeus Holding GmbH is seeking an Operational Buyer to purchase materials for manufacturing and manage supplies and services for the facility. You will build strong supplier relationships to improve delivery, quality, and cost and participate in supply chain decisions.

Key responsibilities include preparing POs, soliciting bids, evaluating suppliers, identifying new sources, negotiating terms, supporting SAP data maintenance, and resolving invoice issues while conducting procurement analytics.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or related field is required, with at least two years of manufacturing experience.
• APICS certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Purchase materials for manufacturing and supplies for the facility; build internal and external supplier relationships to improve delivery, quality and cost.
• Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals and review requisitions for goods and services.
• Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, service, reliability, availability and history.
• Identify new sources of materials and services and qualify them to meet authority limits.
• Negotiate prices and contracts within budget; seek term discounts.
• Support SAP data maintenance and procurement tools and processes.
• Collaborate with internal customers and suppliers to resolve invoice issues and approve payments.
• Perform analytics such as purchase price variance, safety stock levels, late POs and forecasting.

Job Summary

The following challenges await you:

• The primary responsibility of this position is to purchase materials for manufacturing as well as supplies and services for the facility. Build and maintain strong internal & external supplier relationships to achieve continuous improvements in delivery, quality and cost. Participate in supply chain decision making. Prepares surveys, reports, memos, letters, and other documents, using word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software.
• Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals and review requisitions for goods and services.
• Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier’s reputation and history.
• Identify new sources of materials and services and ensure that they are qualified to perform, within limitations and scope of authority.
• Negotiate prices and contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority. Find opportunities to negotiate term discounts.
• Support SAP data maintenance and procurement tools and processes
• Work with internal customers and suppliers to solve claims related to invoices, damaged goods/returned goods, delivery performance and quality of delivered goods and services. Approve invoices for payment.
• Perform and monitor analytics such as purchase price variance, safety stock levels, late purchase order and open purchase order reports, and manufacturing forecasting.

Your Profile

• A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain or related discipline, and a minimum of two years of experience supporting a manufacturing setting are required.
• Proven ability to plan and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Computer proficiency in an ERP system such as SAP as well as MS Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel is required.
• APICS certification is preferred.
