Job summary

AEP Service Corporation in Columbus, Ohio is seeking an experienced audit professional to identify, evaluate, and communicate opportunities to mitigate risk and strengthen controls across multiple audit projects.

You will manage and conduct audits, prepare clear documentation, deliver objective reports, and engage senior management in client meetings, ensuring governance and control improvements across business units and financial operations.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is required.
  • Advanced degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Experience: Eight (8) years of related experience.
  • Certification: Relevant professional certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and conduct operational audit projects as assigned.
  • Effectively manage multiple audit projects and assist team members while maintaining overall responsibility for work quality, deadlines, and budgets.
  • Exhibit subject matter expertise in at least one relevant operational business function / risk area.
  • Prepare complete, clear, and concise documentation of audit work performed and conclusions reached.
  • Deliver reports that are clear, concise, objective, and constructive.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with team members and clients.
  • Conduct client engagement meetings (kick-off, closing, etc.) with senior management.
  • Provide objective assurance and consulting services to evaluate and improve the company's operational processes, governance, and control framework.
  • Perform audits of internal controls related to business units and financial operations.
  • Review management oversight and controls over operations, safeguarding of assets, reliability of financial and management reporting, and compliance with laws and regulations.

Education

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
