Job summary

GE Vernova's Schenectady facility is seeking a hands-on assembler to fit, assemble, and test turbine components. You will read engineering drawings, perform wiring, drilling, torquing, and lubricating tasks, and operate forklifts and cranes.

You will ensure safety, maintain documentation, and support process improvements while contributing to on-time production and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of work experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read schematics/drawings.
  • Industrial assembly experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and test electromechanical turbine components per drawings and instructions.
  • Move material using cranes and forklifts; maintain safety procedures.

Job Description Summary job description summary in this position you will fit, assemble, erect, and align turbine components performing all operations on new production work for our Schenectady facility. In this role you will also assist in testing and perform minor inspections as needed on these components. Unload and prepare parts/product for shipment. Move material/product using cranes (level 2) and other approved material movement equipment to perform work tasks. Provide on-the-job training to other personnel as needed. Complete other daily housekeeping functions including 5s and parts kitting.

Roles and Responsibilities

Basic Assembly and test electromechanical assemblies’ fir turbine components including installation, adhesive bonding, drilling, tapping, torquing, lubricating, and wiring Work from engineering drawings, work instructions, and wiring diagrams Utilize standard tooling to complete work tasks Utilize the proper chemicals; must be able to understand safety data and shelf-life information Follow EHS compliance for turbine assembly and test Perform complete and accurate quality documentation Assist in implementation of documentation and process improvements Operate forklift and crane Maintain manual or computerized records Must Adhere to and follow all safety procedures, i.e., lock-out/tag-out, report safety concerns, use appropriate PPE as required, and follow similar safety practices.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED 1 year of work experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the base pay for this position is $29.12/hr. This position is also eligible for progression pay.
