Requirements

Minimum of three years work experience after graduating high school, with industrial experience preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Must be willing to work rotating shifts on a weekly basis and be available any day of the year, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Team Leader: Act as Team Leader, document appropriate information, facilitate Team meetings. Evaluate own and Team performance, initiate continuous improvement, and drive the Team toward resilience.
  • Team Personnel Rep: Manage Team manpower, appraisal process, Pay for Progression points and training guidelines; monitor time‑sheet accuracy; act as call‑in contact; coordinate hiring.
  • Team Performance/Quality Rep: Manage dispositioned metal flow; monitor Hold Ticket and data input accuracy; attend quality meetings; oversee on‑shift dispositions; attend customer/supplier meetings; support Level 1 audit control plan.
  • Team Production Rep: Track and relay production information; interface with Production Planning; control Team spending to budget.
  • Team Safety Rep: Audit; produce incident reports; monitor housekeeping; participate in environmental and housekeeping walk‑throughs; attend scheduled meetings; track safety‑related equipment repairs; manage annual training and documentation; handle new hire orientation.
  • Administrative Rep: Produce Team monthly reports; oversee production reporting; manage process control.
  • Operate all production machinery and mobile equipment.
  • Draft maintenance work orders, make suggestions to maintenance planners, and lead operator roles during outages.
  • Handle, inspect, package, ship, and transport hazardous waste in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Rotate shifts as required by Team, unit, and/or company policies and procedures.
Accountabilities
  • Knowledge of business protocol combined with historical knowledge of the Company for consistent and professional interaction at all levels.
  • Prioritize and manage personal and Unit accountabilities while allowing the Team to make decisions that affect day‑to‑day business.
  • Allocate 40% of influence to position expertise or experience, the remaining 60% based on interpersonal abilities.
  • Think independently in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment related to process and machine center success.
  • Address difficulty in problem solving compounded by shift work and inter‑Team communications.
  • Communicate effectively, fostering Team‑to‑Team cooperation.
  • Exercise a high degree of personal or procedural control to ensure Team and Unit support the organization’s business philosophy and plan.
  • Support the organization’s ability to meet customer needs.
Additional Information

Excellent communication skills and effective problem‑solving skills required. Customer/supplier thought process preferred. Willingness to work in a self‑managed team environment is necessary. Consensus building is a vital skill. Ability to support a positive, challenging, and participative work environment required.

Essential Physical, Sensory, and Mental Requirements

May sit for 8 hours, stand for 8 hours, or walk 6 hours per day. May use stairs and ladders. May lift more than 50 lbs. and carry the same. May use a computer and/or phone daily. Often work under time pressure. Walk on slippery, uneven surfaces. Must have good vision, hearing, and speaking ability. Read, write, perform simple math and statistical computations. Analyze reports and make daily decisions. Assist in creating goal attainment methods. Conduct research and implement recommendations. Assist in developing plans, procedures, goals, and processes based on data analysis. Train others and evaluate performance. Work indoors, inside the manufacturing plant, and outside. Use office, desk, or control room daily. Extreme heat and cold, dust, dirt, chemicals, vibrations, noise, and fumes are likely. Mobile equipment and heavy crane hazards present. Work in confined spaces.
