Overview

To supervise personnel and direct procedural and specification compliant Cranes & Rigging operations on a system wide basis. To coordinate activities with appropriate Federal, State and Local permitting and licensing agencies to ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Company safety, health, environmental, regulatory, and corporate policies. Example: conduct job safety briefings, reinforce PPE requirements, and confirm crews follow applicable work procedures.
• Supervise Cranes & Rigging personnel in the safe, productive, and specification-compliant performance of work. Example: monitor field activities, verify proper rigging practices, and provide direction when work conditions change.
• Plan, schedule, prioritize, and assign qualified personnel to meet operational and customer needs. Example: review upcoming work, match employees to assignments based on qualifications, and adjust coverage for priority jobs.
• Manage emergency response, call-ins, overtime, and resource coordination across Company organizations. Example: coordinate after-hours staffing, arrange equipment coverage, and communicate resource needs during storm or emergency events.
• Ensure accurate time reporting, records, permitting data, timesheet validations, invoice approvals, and other administrative requirements. Example: review timesheets, confirm Maximo documentation, validate permits, and approve vendor or contractor invoices as appropriate.
• Deliver DOJTs and applicable training while supporting employee development and accountability. Example: complete on-the-job observations, document training progress, and coach employees on required skills or procedures.
• Recognize strong performance and address poor performance through documentation, coaching, and corrective action. Example: acknowledge safe work practices, provide timely feedback, document deficiencies, and follow up on corrective expectations.
• Oversee critical lift planning and the safe transport of over-dimensional equipment through NYC and Westchester. Example: review lift plans, confirm route and permit requirements, and coordinate escorts, cranes, trailers, and field support.
• Improve work management systems and processes to control labor costs, increase productivity, and support operational efficiency. Example: review work practices, identify scheduling or documentation gaps, and recommend process improvements for better tracking and accountability.
• Promote professionalism, teamwork, inclusion, and a questioning attitude while performing related assignments as required. Example: communicate expectations clearly, encourage employee input, support cross-functional coordination, and elevate concerns when conditions are unclear or unsafe. Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience

• Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of professional work experience or
• Associate's Degree and 4 years of professional work experience or
• High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of professional work experience

Preferred Education/Experience

• Bachelor's Degree Engineering or related and 3 years of professional work experience

Relevant Work Experience

• Less than 2 years Of competent working knowledge in relevant Corporate environmental and safety procedures, required.
• 3-5 years Experience with and knowledge of MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and Corporate systems including, but not limited to, MS Teams, Maximo and Contractor Oversight, required.
• Less than 2 years Direct cranes and rigging experience, preferred.
• 2 years Prior supervisory experience, preferred.
• 2 years Excellent written and verbal communication skills, required.
• 2 years Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels of staff and external agencies, preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• Driver's License Required
• Other: Ability and willingness to obtain a Master Rigger's license and/or Crane Operator's license if not already held. Required
• Other: Ability and willingness to obtain a CDL license with appropriate endorsements if not already held. Preferred
• Other: Ability and willingness to obtain a NYS Escort License if not already held. Preferred

Additional Physical Demands

• The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able and willing to respond to Company emergencies as needed.
• Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory as needed.
• Must be able and willing to work outdoors during all seasons and during adverse weather.
