Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking an OR Tech to assist perioperative nurses and anesthesia providers in Surgical Services. You will help prepare rooms, restock supplies, move equipment, and ensure a clean, safe environment for procedures.

Responsibilities include room turnover, assisting with patient transfer, scrubbing in when needed, and supporting transport of patients and specimens. A 6–8 week training period is offered along with tuition reimbursement and comprehensive

Qualifications

• Require a high school diploma or equivalent (employees hired prior to 1/1/01 were grandfathered into this position).
• Prefer previous health care experience.
• Prefer certification in related healthcare.
• Prefer demonstrated ability to follow written/verbal instructions with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Set up and turn over procedure rooms for each case; remove trash and clean the room between procedures.
• Move and set up equipment; stock gases and anesthesia area as needed.
• Assist in transferring and positioning patients; may scrub in with sterile gown and gloves.
• Transport patients and specimens as required; support nursing and anesthesia teams.
