Under the direction and supervision of licensed personnel, the Operating Room Aide assists in providing direct patient care and tasks required for daily unit functions.
Duties include:
Obtaining equipment, supplies and positioning aids for operative cases.
Assisting with setting up the operating room, holding limbs for surgical prep, and assisting with patient positioning under the direction of the RN circulator.
Dismantling and transporting dirty instruments and equipment to the decontamination area.
Performing room cleaning and turnover duties between cases and patient transport.
Performing final checks of case carts to ensure that all needed supplies and equipment are available for surgical procedures.
Experience: Previous experience working in an operating room as an ORA.
Additional Job Description
Minimum Education:A high school diploma or GED is required.
Required Licensure, Certifications, and Registrations: Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
