Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME is seeking an Operating Room Tech to support the surgical team during nights. You will prepare sterile supplies, maintain a sterile field, and hand instruments to the surgeon during procedures.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, ORT training or 3 years in a surgical setting, experience scrubbing a range of procedures, and a current BLS certification. This is a part-time, night-shift position with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience.
• Graduate of an ORT training program or on the job training with a minimum of 3 years experience (surgical setting preferred).
• Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties (e.g., GYN, General and Plastics).
• Experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in specialty surgical areas (ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro., etc.).
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Responsibilities

• The Operating Room Tech is responsible for the preparation of sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure, maintaining sterile field during case and providing surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures.
