Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System is seeking an OR Technologist Team Lead to oversee safe, efficient surgical procedures across service lines. The role involves night shifts with 3/12-hour rotations and potential weekends, requiring CST certification and current BLS.

You will mentor staff, ensure sterility, and collaborate with sterile processing to maintain best practice standards. Minimum two years in an operating room with Level I Trauma experience preferred; vascular and neuro experience highly

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred/required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Handles, labels, and processes surgical specimens according to established lab protocols.
• Sets up sterile fields with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies for each case.
• Anticipates surgical team needs by passing instruments and supplies promptly during procedures.
• Collaborates with sterile processing to decontaminate, prepare and sterilize instruments.
• Maintains infection prevention, patient safety and quality standards in the OR.
• Verifies instrument function and reports issues; monitors supplies to ensure patient safety.
• Assists nursing staff with patient prep, transport, positioning and draping for surgery.
• Precepts and mentors new staff, supporting orientation and onboarding.
