Job summary

Hillcrest Hospital Claremore is seeking a day shift, part-time Operating Room Tech to join our surgical team in Claremore, OK.

The OR Assistant will position patients, support room turnover and sterile technique, and manage anesthesia equipment while coordinating with anesthesia and nursing staff to ensure safe patient care and smooth procedures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Preferred proficiency in sterile techniques for instruments and supplies.
• Knowledge of handling, disinfecting, and sterilizing instruments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in positioning patients for surgery.
• Support room turnover and terminal cleaning of OR rooms.
• Maintain anesthesia machines, ventilators and related equipment.
• Follow patient identification and transportation policies.
• Communicate with charge nurse, coworkers and anesthesia staff regarding patient care needs.
• Restock ORs, transfer patients between rooms, and stock carts.
• Clean and stock anesthesia machines, equipment, and carts.

Get to Know Your Team:

• Hillcrest Hospital Claremore is a 49-bed acute care medical center offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including maternity, cardiology, emergency, orthopedics, alcohol withdrawal stabilization, gastroenterology and surgery.

• The OR Assistant will be responsible for activities of patient care which involve specialty training in operating room assistance which includes but is not limited to assistance in positioning the patient, room turn-over and terminally cleaning OR rooms.
• The OR Assistant must possess a working knowledge of the anesthesia machines, ventilators, and various small pieces of equipment to maintain them in working order.
• Follows policy and procedures for patient identification and transportation.
• Communicates effectively with charge nurse, co-worker, and anesthesia regarding patient care needs.
• Restocks, provides effective turnover of surgery procedure rooms and transfers of patients.
• Clean and stock anesthesia machines, equipment, and carts.

Job Requirements:
